Corruption of Our Fundamental Constitutional Institutions

By: Richard H. Frank

Six months ago I wrote in a blog entitled “Bye, Bye, Miss American Pie!”, that “We the People are about to witness the demise of a nation governed under the law to a nation governed by the will of the political establishment.” There is no argument that can be made that Hillary Clinton is not guilty of committing numerous felonies in conjunction with her illegal activities when handling classified information while serving as Secretary of State. Barack Obama set the stage for his Justice Department to stonewall investigation and road block any attempt to impanel a Grand Jury to hear the growing mountain of evidence that would indict any individual other than a Clinton for committing the same offense.

Not only has Obama stated on numerous occasions that Hillary did nothing to place our national security in jeopardy but that she was the most qualified person ever to seek the office of the Presidency. Now he has taken his disdain for the rule of law one step further when he has stated undocumented voters, (illegal aliens), would not be pursued for breaking the law and voting in the 2016 election. Just another law that Obama doesn’t like that will just be ignored. How many times can a sitting President be allowed to violate his oath to uphold the Constitution and enforce the rule of law in our country?

Over the past eight years we have seen the results of Obama’s “Hope and Change.” Every metric used to measure the impact of government’s actions have been distorted and manipulated to reflect positively on the policies of our first black President and his political congressional supporters. Unemployment numbers, economic growth, job creation, and health care all have been distorted to cover the lies of Barack Obama and the Democrats in Congress. Scandals within the Department of Veterans Affairs, the IRS, the FBI, the State Department and the Justice Department have all been infected by the corrupt influences brought to government by Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama.

It is long past the time when we need to “Drain the Swamp” within the hallowed halls of Washington D.C. The days of political expediency being substituted for our Constitution is the real issue being decided on November 8, 2016. Unless “We the People” stand up and put a swift end to corruption within our Government institutions there will be no return to the Representative Republic envisioned by our Founding Fathers. Hillary Clinton cannot be allowed to assume the Presidency if this nation is to survive.

The moment is at hand when we may retain our national anthem or substitute the theme from Bye, Bye Miss American Pie to mark the day our nation died.

D.C. Elites in Fear of Trump!

by Richard H. Frank

The Washington establishment of both political parties tremble in abject fear that Donald J. Trump may be elected President of the United States.

Their paranoia is evident by what they say to bring him down and what is unsaid in support of his policies. How dare this crass outsider attempt to enter our hallowed halls of government and challenge the status quo? After all, he is not one of the elites dedicated to a career of public service. This fact is undeniable and Mr. Trump has opened the doors to the hallowed halls of government and has shined a spotlight on the rampant corruption houses therein.

His detractors argue that his language and rhetoric is not statesmanlike and that he lacks the temperament to be President. However that language is viewed by at least half of the Country as the truth and they call it “straight talk” no matter how it infuriates the Washington elites in both political parties.

The current Administration and their Congressional supporters are at a loss to respond to his list of their failures extending back to the 1960s. Recovery of the past 8 years as a glowing success, their domestic policies and regulations have smothered small business entrepreneurs and driven large corporations to seek opportunities abroad. Obamacare is a train wreck and destined to die of its own onerous provisions.

Likewise, the Obama/Clinton foreign policy is a disaster that may never be reconciled with military intervention in the Middle East.

Yet we hear the echoing refrain in the hallowed halls of Washington shouting “Osama Bin Laden is Dead and GM is alive!”So say the Hillaryites and their minions.

Trumps words may not be statesmanlike and are painful to the Washington elites but they are representative of what most Americans believe with regard to our massive Washington bureaucracy. Corruption reigns supreme and the rule of law taken backseat to political expediency. If you do not agree with my statement, consider the Hillary Clinton email scandal and the sham investigation conducted by the FBI and an Attorney General whose Justice Department is complicit in dismissing any criminal offenses committed by Hillary Clinton and her staff. Had anyone reading this blog done anything approaching the admitted offenses disregarded in this investigation I guarantee you that you would be behind bars and not running for the Office of President.

Every agency in government from Education to Energy is sweating bullets in fear that Hillary Clinton, the Agent of this status quo, may lose to Trump. Every bureaucrat and Congressman making a career of sucking off the teat of Big Government is in fear of receiving a pink slip should Trump be elected.

Thus, the truth about a corrupt Big Government has been exposed and therefore the elites must resort to the politics of personal destruction, a game which the Clintons are masters at playing.

Hillary states that Trump has paid no taxes in decades due to a business loss of some $900 million dollars associated with his investments in the Atlantic City casino business. She is careful to avoid saying he did anything illegal but infers that he is a fraud when using his business empire as an example of his economic prowess.

She attempts to depict Trump as unAmerican and against our military for having paid no taxes yet she has no evidence to support her accusations. How can anyone that loses that much money be left to administer the Federal Budget? This from a woman that has not created a single job in her lifetime. Such hypocrisy from someone that has been a part of Government that has lost billions of dollars during each year of this Administration and doubled the National Debt.

Hillary’s plan to fix the economy and create jobs is to rebuild our infrastructure, become energy independent through solar and emerging technologies while in the same breath advocates legislating the Coal Industry out of existence and providing free college tuition to families living at or below the poverty level. How can she pay for all these freebies? We all know how – by taxing the rich.

Trump’s solution to our economic malaise is simple. Stimulate growth through tax cuts and elimination of onerous regulations that are job killers. He advocates elimination of government waste and provisions of the Great Society and the war on poverty extending back to the 1960s that reward individuals for not working and contributing to our growth, programs that have cost Americans trillions of dollars and have done nothing but create a class of dependance in our Country.

Should by some miracle Donald Trump is elected President his major obstacle against implementing his agenda will not be the Democrats in Congress per se but the elites, the professional politicians of both parties that have a vested interest in maintaining the status quo. They see their vise grip on America slipping away as efforts to restore and honor the Constitution and return the government to the People once against are pursued.

The elites will raise straw men to create mistrust and fear mongering against change. Any move to honor the Second and Tenth Amendments and return power to the States will be met with fierce opposition. No more game playing with regard to upholding the law, immigration enforcement, defunding sanctuary cities and granting blanket asylum to unaccompanied minors entering our country illegally making them eligible to receive government benefits.

With every Federal Election, those running for office seem to forget that they work for us, We the People. Somehow Congress has switched from representing the electorate to representing special interests. Real change in 2016 means returning to a government of, by and for the People in order to restore this Nation’s greatness.

Hillary Clinton represents more of the same and maintaining the status quo for the ruling class.

Donald Trump represents Real Change. Change that Americans are looking for that may be our last chance to return to and save our Representative Republic. As Trump has said on his campaign appearances: “What do we have to lose?” The answer is we may lose everything America has always stood for! We owe more to our children and our grandchildren.

Corruption By Any Other Name

By: Richard H. Frank

Politicians and the Washington spin doctors are very creative at turning a phrase to avoid calling a particular act by one of their associates exactly what it truly is. For instance the President never tells a lie. He may have misspoken or his words may have been taken out of context or twisted to achieve some particular agenda in support of his ideology. Corruption, High Crimes and Misdemeanors, bribery and outright graft are all ignored and classified under the heading of “crony capitalism” or “it’s the right thing to do” in the case of such perceived social injustices as illegal immigration, gay marriage and abortion. When something goes wrong or takes an unexpected turn for the worse as the result of Government action “unintended consequences are always to blame and not the ideology behind the action. Take Obamacare for example. The law was to provide health care for over thirty million uninsured Americans at reduced costs for every family. Instead after five years of confusion in the medical industry accounting for 1/6th of the economy we find premiums and deductibles have skyrocketed and real care diminished with over thirty million Americans still uninsured. Obama has ignored the provisions of the law and by fiat altered the language without congressional action to meet his political initiatives. All of his actions are in direct violation of the Constitution. The same is true for Obama’s executive actions with regard to immigration and if not for the action of one Federal Judge we would be on the verge of amnesty for every illegal immigrant presently in the United States and establishment of an open border policy for the country. “Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” The nuclear negotiations underway with Iran for the past two and one-half years are the perfect example of this foregoing quotation. We have a President obsessed with creating his legacy having failed to do so in his Presidency for the past six years. His statement that “Iran would never possess a Nuclear weapon on his watch” did not include any provision against his providing them with the path to acquiring that weapon after he left office. When pressured by Congress to give them final approval of any agreement (treaty) reached during the negotiations the talks are suddenly characterized as being a non-binding agreement not subject to Congressional approval as required by the Constitution. Additionally, Obama seems to think he can unilaterally remove sanctions imposed by act of Congress without their legislating that action. Now we have Hillary Clinton’s in-your-face violation of State Department rules and law regarding disclosure of her emails while serving as Secretary of State. She arrogantly contends that she was entitled to use a non-governmental controlled server to archive her emails and she alone had the authority to determine which of those communications were private and those that belonged to “we the people”. She holds herself above the law and takes refuge behind the Clinton Foundation on matters having the appearance of corruption. The Justice Department turns a blind eye to her actions contending that others in prior administrations disregarded the rules and protocols in place and thus it is no big deal. The latest revelations about Hillary and the Clinton Foundation involved in influence peddling while she held the position of Secretary of State have all the earmarks of corruption and enhancing the financial rewards to the Foundation and of the Clintons personally. Coincidence, I think not but without any evidence to the contrary the Clinton’s will just hunker down and wait for this storm to pass just as they have before on other scandals. Unfortunately, corruption is not the sole provence of the Democrats in office but can be found on both sides of the aisle in Congress and in the massive Federal bureaucracy consisting of agencies within our government. As long as the electorate in America remains apathetic and does not insist that our laws are to be enforced we open ourselves and this country up to corruption for which we must bear the expense. An expense not only in the form of dollars but in the loss of our very liberty. Corruption by any other name still stinks.

The Miracle of Obama’s Arithmetic!

By: Richard H. Frank

Barack Obama uses the phrase “it’s arithmetic” to prove his criticism of his opponent’s revenue and tax policies. Yet when it comes to calculation of the unemployment rate in America the rule that 2+2=4 doesn’t apply. There should be no doubt in the mind of any informed American that the real unemployment rate in this country is substantially higher than that reported in the Department of Labor’s monthly statistics. Consider the following:

  • According to the Government between 150,000 and 175,000 new jobs are needed each month just to keep pace with population growth. Their own statistics show that this has not happened over the past year. Yet, the rate has dropped from 9.3% to the September bogus number of 7.8%.
  • Weekly first time claims for unemployment benefits remain above 350,000 or a total of approximately 1.0 million per month which is 4 to 5 times the number of new private sector jobs reported as created by the Department of Labor. Yet, the administration and the President takes credit for 5 million new jobs created in just the past 10-month period. These facts just don’t add up.
  • More importantly the Obama Administrations own figures show that the U-6 under-employment rate remains locked in at 14.1%. This is a direct contradiction to their reported 7.8% for September 2012.
  • The most startling and bogus number in all the calculations used by the administration is the available workforce in the country which has  magically fallen by more than 8 million persons. Where have all these people gone? Have they migrated to Mexico in search of employment crossing the border in the dead of night to become illegal immigrants?

The real answer is that “it’s all about politics and electing  Barack Obama for a second term”. We find ourselves living under an administration headed by a President that will do and say anything to be re-elected. The media dare not call out the administration for the lies and distortions they spew to the American public for fear of being labeled as racist. I for one could care less about the color of the President’s skin, but do care about the color of his character.

President Obama and his administration have repeatedly demonstrated a lack of transparency and a propensity to manipulate the truth to the point of lacking any credibility with the electorate. This was not the “Hope and Change” that many Americans voted for in 2008. Now in 2012 it is time to make a change and replace Obama and his administration with qualified men that have the values and principles that have made America exceptional.

Barack Obama’s Unconstitutional Runaround Once Again Usurps the Powers Reserved to Congress!

by Richard H. Frank

It appears as though whenever the President changes his position on political policy or needs to energize his base by making statements contrary to his prior position, it is due to his continuous evolution of thought.  This is evidenced by his changed position toward same-sex marriage and his 180 degree course change on using Executive Orders to further his political agenda.

In 2008 candidate Obama stated “I taught the Constitution for ten years.  I believe in the Constitution.  I will obey the Constitution of the United States.  We’re not gonna use signing statements as a way of doing an end-run around Congress.”

Yet today, he announced he is using an Executive order to implement a portion of the “Dream Act” previously struck down by Congress in effect paving the way for amnesty for illegals between the age of 16 and 30 that were brought to this Country illegally by their parents.  In effect, he is giving Congress the middle finger in his quest to appeal to the Hispanic vote in November.  He is bypassing Congress to grant amnesty by Executive Fiat.

Ron Paul recently wrote in an article “Taking Executive Orders Too Far” the following:

“The vision of the founders was to set up a government that would remain small and unobtrusive via a system of checks and balances. That it has taken our government so long to get this big speaks well of the original design.  The founders also knew the overwhelming nature of governments was to amass power and grow.  The Constitution was to serve as the brakes on the freight train of government.

But the Obama administration, like so many administrations in the 20th century, chooses to ignore the Constitution entirely.  The increasingly broad use and scope of the Executive Orders is a prime example.  Executive Orders are meant to be a way for the president to direct executive agencies on the implementation of congressionally approved legislation.  It has become increasingly common for them to be misused in ways that are contradictory to congressional intent, or to bypass Congress altogether in enacting political agendas.  The current administration has unabashedly stated that Congress’s unwillingness to pass the president’s jobs bill means that the president will act unilaterally to enact provisions of it piecemeal through Executive Order.  Obama explicitly threatens to bypass Congress, thus aggregating the power to make and enforce laws in the executive.  This clearly erodes the principles of separation of powers and checks and balances.   It brings the modern presidency dangerously close to an elective dictatorship.

This administration certainly was not the first to behave in ways that have defied the Constitution to overstep its bounds.  Sadly, previous administrations have set precedent that the current administration is only building upon.  It is time for Congress to reassert itself and its constitutional role so that future administrations cannot continue on this dangerous path.”

Apparently our “evolving President” has a short memory when it comes to his statement in 2008 about the use of Executive Orders.   From 2009 to date, the president has issued 128 Executive Orders dealing with abortion, U.S. Armed Forces, American Indians and Alaskan native educational programs, Bosnia, business and industry, commissions, boards, committees, task forces, etc.  National Defense, energy, environment, faith-based organizations, Government agencies, Haiti, health Care, historical black colleges and universities, Iran, Kosovo, Libya, North Korea, patient protection and Affordable Care Act, Presidential records, regulatory cooperation, Somalia, stem cells, Syria, trade, veterans and Yemen.

These Orders all bypass Congressional view and are entered into the Federal Register where largely unseen they become law after 30 days. In the fall of 2011 Obama stated in answer to a question that he could not just issue an order to implement the “Dream Act” and must uphold the existing laws with regard to immigration. So now he is doing just that very thing.  Whatever happened to our Representative Republic where making laws are the responsibility of Congress and not the provence of the President?

The Constitution has no provision wthin it that specifies the use of Executive Orders to achieve a President’s political agenda but it does specifically limit the powers of the President and the Executive Branch of Government.  Between now and November, look for Barack Obama to go all out issuing orders designed to energize his base prior to the election.

His statement that he believes in and will obey the Constitution are not worth the breath he used to utter the words.  He is a man lacking scruples and he has no integrity.  Be aware that with each Executive Order he issues he is “fundamentally changing America” intruding on our freedoms and justifying his changing positions as the evolution in his thinking.

It’s time that “We the People” help him evolve from President Obama to just plain citizen Obama in November 2012.

The Baby-Boomer Generation – Americas New Underclass!

By: Richard H. Frank

Seventy-six million babies were born in the US between 1946 and 1964, a span of 19 years. According to the 2000 census 72 million of these babies have survived and are eligible to begin receiving full Social Security benefits in 2011 and it is expected that an average of 3.0 million will be added to the roles with each successive year. These individuals have paid into the SS system their entire working lives and some will continue to support the system over the next 20 years.

The average benefit paid to recipients is just under $1200.00 / month with those receiving disability benefits approximately $1100.00 / month. Annually that equates to about $14,400/ year slightly above the poverty level. The poverty level for all states in the U.S. for the 2009/2010 timeframe was set at $10,830 for an individual and $14,570 for a family of 2 persons. Assuming the CPI for food and energy continues to increase at an annual average rate of 5.0%, which is not included in the cost of living inflation rate, there will be substantial erosion to the fixed benefits paid to recipients and ultimately force them closer to the poverty level.

According to government estimates there were 44 million Americans living below the poverty level in 2009, or approximately 14% of the population. Most baby boomers retiring have no pensions, or at best limited IRAs, upon which to supplement their Social Security benefits. The largest investment made during their working lives was the equity built through the purchase of their homes. That equity has been diminished substantially by the recent crash of the real estate market. Those retirees that do not own their homes will bear the additional inflated costs to provide shelter for their families in addition to the uncontrollable inflated costs of food and energy.

Government, not the individual, is the problem with regard to having a sustainable Social Security safety net.  Social progressives have looted the mythical Social Security lock box of more than $2.5 trillion dollars for programs never intended to be funded under the original law. Today we have created an unsustainable Ponzi scheme in an attempt to redistribute wealth and level the playing field for all residents instead of creating a safety net for those seniors that have contributed to the system and are in real need.

Over time inflation and hyper- inflation will create a new underclass in America. That underclass will consist of illegal aliens, retirees and the growing numbers of baby boomers attaining retirement age over the coming twenty years.

The feeble attempts made by Congress to revise the SS system will only result in compounding the situation over the long run. The real answer is to limit the government influence over achieving energy independence in America as the stimulus that will drive efficient job creation and a resultant thriving economy. Government over- regulation of the free enterprise system in America must be reduced to the level of assuring safety and protecting against fraud. The reality is that Big Government has created Big Problems all of which were foreseen by our founding Fathers and warned against when drafting our constitution. Government must return to the values and principles ascribed to by the founders.

Unfortunately, there is an entire generation of Americans that will spend their “Golden Years” experiencing  a substantially reduced standard of living from that which they were anticipating all the years of their working lives.

These Mid-Term Elections are Painful!

by Jayne D. Frank

These mid-term elections are painful to my husband and I for a number of reasons.  We have worked very hard for the last several months trying to educate the some  40% of Americans that are still infatuated with Obama and his policies, in the hopes that they will get out in November and vote for the checks and balances in Congress that our Founding Fathers envisioned, thereby negating or at least stopping some of the Progressives’ agenda items for the next two years.  To that end, we have written blog articles, become poll challengers, prepared and passed out literature, attended rallies and fundraisers, put signs in our yard, worked and communicated with our college campuses and are very active in our Traverse Bay 912 Project with like-minded citizens who are concerned about our Government’s overreaching and destructive policies.

But even with the winds of change blowing more favorably for us in Congress by ousting politicians that do not represent us and the election of principled men and women who we feel represent America’s values, there still isn’t a sense of excitement or fulfillment, and I doubt whether the euphoria we feel on election night will last through the next day.

On November 3, if We the People regain the majority in the House and possibly the Senate, we still have a corrupt Washington environment that won’t take long to snare the newly elected into their plush surroundings and perks, special interest lobbyists at their doors with their hands and money out, and a “Go Along to Get Along” mentality that protects Congressional members for voting in direct contradiction to the will of the American people.

I  have not been pleased at all with the Republicans in Congress over the last few years and only hope that the “young guns” in Congress will take the lead in November and start to roll back or stop the onerous legislation that is killing this economy such as health care, and will get the cojones to do what is necessary on immigration.  They must secure the borders first, and then and only then can a dialogue take place in America and Congress about how to handle the millions of illegals in this country that are taking our states down the path of bankruptcy. Entitlements and spending also must be tackled and prompt and bold action taken, but I don’t feel the Republicans in Congress have the backbone and will to do what is necessary to protect our children’s future.

Perhaps I am just tired of working so hard with my fellow concerned Americans for the last couple of years to save our Republic.  Being in my 60s and with my husband in his 70s, this was supposed to be our ‘Golden Years’ when we could enjoy each other, an occasional trip now and then, dinner out once in awhile, and not having to worry about our children and grandchildren.

My question to you Congress is “What are you willing to give up to make America a land of opportunity again for our children?”
