Intolerance by Liberals in America!

By: Richard H. Frank

If the “Constitution of The United States” doesn’t suit the ideology of liberals in this country they will attempt to use the judiciary to rewrite the Constitution. For example, I cannot find language in the document specific to demand the separation of Church and State. Yet liberals have subverted the language contained in the First Amendment to insist that the “Ten Commandments” not be displayed on any public property. Public schools are forbidden from conducting prayer or using the term “God” in any manner that might offend the agnostic. And heaven forbid if any community across this vast nation should dare to display the Nativity Scene during the Christmas season. Just how far will America stray from the founding principles contained in our “Declaration of Independence” and those clearly stated in the “Constitution?”

The political elites see themselves as a ruling class “all knowing” and better equipped to determine what is best for the citizenry. They view history as something that must be altered in an manner consistent with their ideology and that is politically expedient for them to remain in office. What hypocrites!

Suddenly there is a movement among the left in this country intent on removal of any symbol that historically records the actual history of this nation. It seems to have started with State legislators deciding that displaying the Confederate flag on public property was somehow racist. Wasn’t the Confederacy real? Didn’t over 500,000 Americans die during the Civil War? I guess we should pull any reminder of that historical period in America from view, just as protesters are tearing down statues commemorating leaders of the confederacy during that time.

What would the response of the media and far left be should the far right attack the memorials erected in memory of Martin Luther King? Their attack on organizations such as the KKK and Neo Nazis and White Supremacists would be unrelenting and rightly so. The same should be the case for any attack on individuals or memorials depicting the true historical roots of this Nation. If we allow those in power to subvert free expression in speech or memorials we are surrendering our very freedom as a people.

Unfortunately, we have very short memories and are too lazy to study history unless it is depicted in a three-hour series on television or an movie that becomes the true basis of our understanding and must be accepted as fact. Thus we are destined to repeat the same mistakes of the past that cost millions of lives around the world. Politicians stand up and denounce the Holocaust of the twentieth century yet condone abortion as a right under the Constitution that has claimed a hundred times the lives taken by the Nazis during World War II.

On college campuses we see demonstrations against free speech where conservative values may not be aired for fear that they may change someone’s mind or ideology. Speakers are shouted down and property destroyed with no accountability for those committing these intolerances nor the institutions allowing them to take place. Whatever happened to justice under the law? If we don’t like the law we just ignore it. Thats Anarchy! Next if liberals don’t like the books in University libraries I guess we will just burn them. Sound familiar? Read the history of Germany in the 1930’s.

I fear we are becoming a nation of illiterates content to accept whatever the media presents to us in a 30-second sound bite as gospel. We are on the road to teaching our children to become mind-numbed robots entering a period of history akin to Orwell’s “1984”.

Put Your Pen Down, Mr. President and Get to Work!

by Jayne D. Frank

I thought Barack Obama’s State of the Union address was contrived and full of grandiose rhetoric in 2013; however, that will pale in comparison to what we hear in this month’s SOTU address. Why? Quite simply, nothing the President ever says or promises becomes a reality. He had now prefaced his upcoming speech with “I have a pen and I have a phone” in which to get things done [because Congress is the problem].

Here are your words and promises from 2013:

1) “Together we have cleared away the rubble of crisis and … the state of our union is stronger.” Really! We have the highest level of poverty, higher number of people out of the job market, and highest number of people on food stamps than ever before. Is this your idea of a strong economy?

2) You said “We should ask ourselves as a nation: How do we attract more jobs to our shores.” One answer would be to resolve the problem of the millions of good-paying jobs that have been lost during your Administration. Your have used your pen, your failed Obamacare law and your thousands of EPA regulations to completely eviscerate any gains that might have come about as a result of spending billions of dollars on “stimulating” the economy. If you truly meant what you said, you would use your pen and the power of your office to approve the XL pipeline from Canada, which has the approval of 69% of our Senators and every Governor along its proposed path, putting thousands of people to work in good-paying energy jobs and you would lift the strangehold of those EPA regulations which are keeping companies cash-strapped and unable to produce any new jobs in their industry. Get your foot off the throats of energy companies!

3) You were going to create three more urban manufacturing hubs and ask Congress to create a network of 15 of these hubs for the “next revolution in manufacturing right here in America.” How’s that working out for you since more and more urban cities in America are in or approaching bankruptcy? We have the highest corporate tax rate at present and coupled with these regulations I’ve mentioned, there will be no additional manufacturing until you stop your insanity.

4) How do we equip our people with the skills to get… jobs?” One method might be to stop “giving” welfare and other entitlements to people in exchange for staying home and not looking for work. Require drug tests and require completing additional schooling as a requirement of getting entitlements.

5) We need to “reinvigorate the middle class.” Well, Mr. President, the middle class HAS lost 40% of its wealth under your Presidency and I think that your “words” remain another promise unfulfilled. You cannot invigorate the middle class if Obamacare remains the law of the land and takes more wealth out of the middle class. You cannot invigorate the middle class if you keep “giving” their tax money to others that don’t want to work. And you can’t invigorate the middle class if your message is not one of hope and declaration that America is one of the greatest producing countries in the world. You cannot invigorate the middle class when you have declared your intentions time and time again to “redistribute the wealth.”

Missing from the 2013 State of the Union and most assuredly the 2014 SOTU speech will be any mention of the many failures of this Administration in the foreign policy arena that have put America’s state of the union in jeopardy. The reason is quite simple. You do not have a record of accomplishment in this area and in fact your apologetic and appeasement policies concerning America’s power and standing in the world have made you look like a bafoon in this area. You are also afraid that should you mention foreign policy, Americans will continue to bring up the fact that you and the Secretary of State were directly responsible for the deaths of 4 Americans in Benghazi because you failed to provide security to them as requested. Your positions on defending Israel, taking away Iran’s ability to produce a nuclear weapon and helping the millions of people suffering in Syria, are also deplorable.

Frankly, millions of Americans are poised to watch the 2014 State of the Union not to hear “hope” from you any longer. They will be watching you make a fool out of yourself once more. They will be counting and pronouncing your failures and lies once again. They will be hoping that the Supreme Court Justices and military commanders that usually witness this speech don’t come this year and bear witness to your criticisms, lies and disdain for them. You are a failure as a President and a Commander-in-Chief and it would behoove you to be humble, contrite and truthful to the America people in the 2014 State of the Union, but you won’t–you can’t help yourself!

The Stampede to Socialism in America!

by Richard H. Frank

As 2014 begins every American needs to look back at what has occurred in this Country over the past 5 years under Barack Obama’s Presidency and his Administration. Never in my lifetime have I witnessed a more inept, incompetent and corrupt Administration aided by those in Congress hell-bent on the destruction of the very fabric upon which this Republic was founded, Our Constitution!

We have a President who has no qualms about looking Americans directly in the eye and lying to them over and over again. When the facts do not support his assertions and agenda he and his Administration just change the facts thinking the more they expound on fallacious information eventually we stupid Americans will believe the rhetoric.

How slow are Americans in realizing what is taking place before our very eyes? From stimulus spending and non-existent shovel-ready jobs, to failed green energy programs, to the spring of recovery in 2009, to Benghazi being the result of a video and on and on again. Yet in the upcoming State of the Union Address our majestic President will be sure to take credit for equally unreal achievements such as the bogus decline in unemployment and the surge in American energy production and exports and of course his signature accomplishment “The Affordable Care Act” aka “Obamacare.” Thus far every promise he has made concerning healthcare is either being proven untrue or at best exaggerated.

Then we have Congress, the People’s voice and representative to bring checks and balances against an oppressive Executive Branch of Government. The voice of the People has been muted through Congress supporting the Socialist’s agenda of Obama and his Administration by extension of entitlement spending unabated.

Today we have unemployment benefits extended for up to 99 weeks, food stamp programs increased by over 70%, health care costs now forecast to be three times that projected when the ACA was originally passed and welfare programs expanded to illegal aliens at unprecedented rates. All of these programs are being paid for with money this Country and the Obama Administration doesn’t have. Instead we just borrow the money and pass the soon to be $18 trillion debt on to our children and grandchildren.

The Rule of Law has been substituted by the rule through Executive decree or administrative regulations issued by unelected bureaucrats in various agencies of the Federal Government; i.e., the Department of Labor, the Environmental Protection Agency, Homeland Security, the National Security Agency and the Department of Justice. Many of these regulations are aimed at suppression of the free enterprise system and usurping the very freedoms conferred upon each of us under the Bill of Rights.

President Ronald Reagan warned that the first step toward destruction of the Republic would be a move towards socialized medicine. Obamacare is that first step and must be repealed before the roots of socialism take root and like an invasive vine choke the life from our Nation.

In the 1960s Nikita Khrushchev warned that America could not be destroyed by any attack from abroad but would eventually be destroyed from within. Now some 5 years later those of us old enough to remember his words bear witness to “the stampede to Socialism.” Unless “We the People” intervene and change the representation we elect to Congress the Liberal Progressives will assure the eventual “transformation of America” to a European social democracy as has been publicly declared by Barack Obama.

The Declaration of Independence holds the answer as to how “We the People” can prevent this oppressive Government from subverting our Constitution and freedom. Take heed America!

Obama’s Legacy 2.0

by Jayne D. Frank

It has been quite a few months since we have posted on our blog; quite simply, our entire extended family was “stunned” at the naivety and ignorance of the people who elected Barack Obama to continue denigrating and transforming this Country into a declining economic and military force in the World.  Our blog mission has always been to educate the country in the agenda of a man totally unequipped and inexperienced to handle the job of President and Commander-in-Chief.  It was our desire to allow visitors to the blog to actually think for themselves and to understand the difference between the words and hyperbole of Barack Obama and his actions, so that we could  put this 4-year disaster behind us.  Our final reaction to the 2012 election was “Now they deserve what they get…..”

It is amazing, however, how many Americans we have run into in our travels who were similarly shocked at the election outcome and are going to continue to resist the takeover of our private economy by our Government and to try to preserve our God-given freedoms.  Our blog readers deserve nothing less than that.

One of the most high-profile issues that will have to eventually rear its ugly head in Barack Obama’s second term, is the issue of Entitlements.  Today I asked my husband “Who could possibly feel good about what this man has done in the last four years?” and the answer was obvious.  The more than $8.8 million people on disability, the people on unemployment who no longer even try to work who still get unemployment after so many Government extensions, and those on welfare.  Those include those at the lower end of the poverty spectrum who continue to irresponsibly have more babies in order to collect an ever-growing stash of money from the Government for doing so.  The values of many in this entitlement system are truly warped, but who can blame them when money is just being thrust at them with no accountability in exchange for taking it.  The takers also demean and diminish the people who truly need assistance from the Government (i.e., the truly disabled and those that find themselves, through no fault of their own needing financial assistance just to survive).

One example comes to mind which simply illustrates the absurdity and waste by the Government in providing disability money.  We had recently been looking around for a used pontoon boat and we ran across a 29-year old man selling one such boat from his driveway .  He said that he and his dad had just finished totally stripping the old boat of its furnishings and fixtures to rebuild the boat from the ground up, which obviously took a great deal of time, money and manual labor to finish. He then told us that he was “retired” now and was getting disability because he was having some problems with his back from being in a car accident.  He explained how he now has the leisure time to do landscaping in his new house as well as fix it up as he and his wife had always wanted to do.  This young man, not yet 30 years old, was far more healthy and able to work than hundreds of thousands of hard-working Americans that pull themselves out of bed every morning to get to their waitressing job or work in a factory.  What we felt at the end of meeting him was shame!  Shame that this young man exemplifies thousands of others who are scamming the system.  Shame that our Government would even grant this claimant a lifetime of disability benefits on the backs of taxpayers.  And shame that my paraplegic sister who was cared for in a nursing home, and thousands like her, are in danger of losing their benefits because of people abusing the disability system.  This young man and others who abuse the disability system would rather subsist as a parasite on the Government dole rather than take responsibility for himself and his family.  Between 2008 and now, disability benefits have skyrocketed  – an increase of $5 million.  Who ultimately pays that bill?  You do!

A recent newspaper article also highlighted the abuse of the welfare system.  A young man under the age of 35 had recently died.  His obituary talked about the 15 children that he had fathered (by numerous women.) The article went on to describe how much of an “entrepreneur” he was – that through Federal and State welfare monies for those children and their mothers, his “extended family” was able to bring in over $100,000 annually in income without having to lift a finger to earn that money.  Who pays for all those children?  You do!

There is absolutely nothing that Barack Obama is going to do in his second term, as illustrated in Tuesday’s State of the Union address, to fix this broken system.  His social justice makeover of America is alive and well and abuses like those illustrated above will only continue to flourish if there is no accountability and cuts made to those programs.  In this SOTU address, he also had the audacity to tell us that his programs, just as with Obamacare, “would not add one dime to the deficit,” including a brand new useless entitlement program such as “preschool for everyone.”  Who would pay for that additional program?  You would!

Loss of Respect for the Man Equals Loss of Respect for the Office He Holds

by Richard H. Frank

Lee Iococca recently asked “where have all the Leaders Gone?”  It is difficult to find anyone in either political party possessing the personal integrity to stand in support of the Constitution that  they have sworn to protect and defend.  Party ideology and affiliation overrides the wants and needs of the electorate.  Special interests, corruption and manipulation of the Constitutional intent of the Founders has diminished and replaced our representative Republic.

Campaign slogans and promises evaporate in the light of day when real leadership for governance is required.  Pandering to their political base has replaced the true legislative process on both sides of the congressional aisle.  The honesty, integrity and truthfulness of our elected leaders establishes the world view of the United States.  When politicians disrespect the electorate, they as  individuals lose the respect of their constituents.  Eventually, that loss of respect carries over to the office they hold and results in disrespect for our nation around the world.

Today the legislative and executive branches of our government have achieved a new low in respect by those they purport to represent.  Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and yes, even President Obama, are masters at manipulating the truth, creating unsubstantiated statistics to support their  agenda and political double speak when addressing “We the People.” We dare not call their statements lies for fear of disrespecting the office they hold or being called racist, but should just sit down and politely shut up. I am all for civility within political discourse but when our constitutional rights are at risk I say enough is enough.

I for one am tired of the non-stop campaigning with promises of transparency, job creation and the nanny state taking care of us from cradle to grave.  Personal responsiblity is considered a radical philosophy within the lexicon of President Obama’s and the 111st Congress’ agenda.

The State of the Union address needs to be fact checked by every major media outlet in America to expose the false statements and hold those that perpetuate them  accountable to the American voter.  Nancy Pelosi’s stubborn assertions that she will pass the democratic health bill further diminishes her already miserable standing with the people.

Photo-ops and standing up in front of the television cameras imploring Congress to “just get along” flies in the face of the facts concerning bi-partisanship, transparancy and backroom dealings as a new way of doing business in Washington.

The real “grass-roots American political activists” must keep up the pressure on the two major political parties and rally independent voters to help and clean house in the 2010 and 2012 elections.  Restore Government under our Constitution as a truly representative Republic for “We the People.”

President Obama’s Agenda is The Clear and Present Danger in Washington

by Richard H. Frank

Last night the American public witnessed 70 minutes of President Obama attempting to deflect responsibility for our dismal state of the union from his policies and agenda to any entity he could remotely indict.  Wall Street, big banks, big oil, the prior administration and even Congress were all in the cross hairs for his attacks.

In the most partisan speech in memory for “The State of the Union”, he asserted that his agenda was stalled by Republican opposition in spite of the Democrats possessing an overwhelming majority in Congress.  He further asserted that his stimulus legislation had saved over 2 million jobs in state and local government which would have otherwise been lost if not for the stimulus plan.

His failure to acknowledge the private sector and the free enterprise system’s role in stimulating this economic, save for a new jobs bill (Stimulus 2) that would make $30 billion available in credit to small businesses, ignores the fact that Government does not create jobs but is more spending on the part of Government with money we don’t have.

The President’s assertion that his administration has not raised taxes a single dime completely ignores the expiration of the Bush tax cuts due to increase all of our taxes in 2011.

Obama remains steadfast in the assertion that his health care reform, cap and trade, green energy and jobs legislation are the only route to fiscal reform and future prosperity.  He is either deaf to the priorities of the people, totally incompetent or a devout marxist intent of fundamentally changing America from a representative Republic to a socialist dictatorship.

In so far as fiscal responsibility is concerned, his proposed freeze on discretionary spending is laughable.  His attempt to compare this initiative to the american family budget fell flat as he stated “That’s how the budget works” and “We will begin next year.”   That’s not how family budgets work; we stop spending NOW.   In the interim his message is spend, spend and spend some more.

Obama’s arrogance was on full display as he chastised the Senate for voting against forming a bipartisan commission to make recommendations for economic recovery and asserted their irrelevance by issuing an executive order to do his bidding anyway.

I still cannot find in the Constitution any authority for the Executive Branch to override Congress by issuing an Executive Order.  His message was “screw Congress!”

The most egregious insult to our Constitution and the balance of powers came when he chastised the Supreme Court’s recent decision with regard to campaign financing.

I expect most Americans could not keep from yawning as we listened to a rehash of campaign slogans.  “We will examine the budget page by page and line by line,” “I will not hesitate to veto any bill that retards economic growth,” “earmarks will be posted on a new government web site so American can view where their money is being spent.”

I, like most Americans, are sick and tired of listening to President Obama’s campaign rhetoric.

The most disingenuous statement he made last evening was with regard to Republicans having any ideas for health care reform.  He said “Just let me know….”  He is open to any ideas.  Well, where has he been for the past eleven months?  I seem to remember a Republican Bill that was blocked from coming to the floor that contained such radical ideas as tort reform, making insurance available across state lines and allowing small businesses to co-op and buy insurance at preferential rates as do the big corporations.

We witnessed a stubborn, arrogant man lecture every conceivable private and government body he could for the deteriorating state of the union.  He presented nothing new in the form of a plan save more Government intervention in the economy and continued spending at the heightened 2010 levels.

Lee Iacocca adopted a management philosophy that said “Lead, Follow or Get the Hell Out of the Way!”  I believe it’s time for Washington to abandon the Obama agenda and return to free enterprise principles, and then Get the Hell Out of the Way!
