The Awakening of America Against Socialism!

By: Richard H. Frank

Citizens United Productions, in conjunction with Newt and Callista Gingrich,  has recently released a video entitled “Nine Days That Changed the World” which chronicles 50 years of Poland’s oppression under the Nazis beginning in 1939 and the Communists from 1946 until the rise of Solidarity in 1989. The documentary emphasizes the great influence of Pope John Paul II on the restoration and revitalization of religion  within that country where the statist government under control of the communists in Russia had all but obliterated God from view of the public.

As you view the history of the 50 year imposition of socialism upon the Polish people one cannot help but identify the frightening similarities to what has taken place in America over the past 100 years as the progressives move to eliminate religion and God from every aspect of public life. What has taken 100 years here in America to advance the socialists ideals to the point of impacting our very liberty is now being accelerated by the Marxist agenda of Barack Obama and his administration.

In 1979 Pope John Paul II stood against Communist oppression in Poland when in Warsaw on June 2, 1979 he stated to millions of Polish people, “Let your Spirit descend and renew the face of the earth, and this land.” The nine days of his visit to Poland, the land of his birth, ignited the spirit of the individual against the Communist oppressors and ultimately led to the fall of the Berlin wall in 1989 and dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991.

Today we find that same spirit present in the fundamental beliefs of those Americans associated with the Tea Party Movement. The return to the principles of small government, individual responsibility and free market economics are all present in the move to return to the vision of the Founding Fathers and is gaining momentum with the people. The recognition that unalienable rights come from God and not the government is re-energizing ” We The People” to demand government assume its limited role according to our Constitution and allow the individual’s enterprise and ingenuity to bring prosperity to our nation.

We do not have ten or twenty years to stop the assault by the progressives on our liberties. We must act now and allow the grass root movement to grow and bring its full power to bear at the ballot box in the 2010 and 2012 elections. Failure to change our direction toward socialism and a government dedicated to redistribution of wealth will result in the enslavement of our children and grandchildren under socialism much as was the destiny of the Polish people for over 50 years.

I urge every concerned American to see “Nine Days That Changed the World” and heed the message of history so eloquently presented for the sake of our children and the preservation of our Republic.
