Keep the Fires Burning!

Life is full of numerous things that people categorize as memorable events. Songs have been written such as, Graduation Day, The Way We Were, and for those of us old enough to remember, The Anniversary Song to celebrate such moments. There are also dates etched in history that we remember.   Remember the Alamo March 6, 1838, Pearl Harbor December 7, 1941, November 22, 1963 John Kennedy assassination, and of course September 11, 2001 terrorist attack on the Twin Towers and the Pentagon.

November 5, 2008 will also go down in history as the date America elected the first African American who had vowed to fundamentally change America and the World.  Barack Obama and the Democratic controlled Congress have attempted to impose the greatest number of progressive, socialist pieces of legislation on this country in its 233 year history. Their agenda, if continued, will place America on an irreversible road to European style socialism. The relentless assault upon our Constitution in the form of growth of the Federal government and enacting of legislation they label as a “right” will surely bankrupt the nation.

This administration and Congress contend they are doing the will of the people, when in reality they have turned a deaf ear to the voice of the majority of Americans and believe that they know what is best for the individual and the country. Tomorrow President Obama will once again reveal to the country his vision of Affordable Health Care legislation in spite of the country overwhelmingly opposing moving forward with any form of the existing bills. In essence the Democrats are saying to hell with the Constitution and the will of the people, as they manipulate rules of the Senate to pass the legislation on a simple majority vote. Should Congress succeed in this travesty it will fall to us, “We the People”, to reverse and correct the errors of our elected representatives in the November 2010 elections. Every grassroots organization must keep the fires burning and find candidates that will support repeal of this budget-busting, deficit expanding and government takeover of health care in America.

Our voices have not been heard by our representatives up to this point and we have no reason to believe they will hear us in the future. So, just as the military prepares to protect us from foreign enemies, we must prepare to protect ourselves from domestic enemies by voting out those that refuse to uphold their oath to our Constitution. If we do not take action we will rue the day we voted for “change to believe in”, November 5, 2008, to elect a president set on the destruction of the America we have known and loved. The dates we remember historically are all associated with tragedy. Let us pray that November 5, 2008 will not be remembered the same way.
